Coming from mixed backgrounds and having found themselves in an
assigned group at ECAL (École cantonale d’art de Lausanne), the
Je T’aime collective is a sphere, almost
cult-like, but endearing.
After three years of friendship,
Je T’aime was officially founded on
make.it.meme in July 2024, with the
hashtags
#collectifjetaime #orgynapoli.
Since then, the group has been busy continuing to artistically exist.
The core of the project focuses on the idea of a collective’s
existence beyond the gallery walls, on the management of the human,
material, or emotional conditions required to label oneself a “group.”
If moments of exhibition and artistic production crystallize these
dynamics, the collective works revolve around reflections on
interpersonal ties - their forms and limits - like accounts of what
happened between two setups.
Gossip machine, noice activator, snap clan, bike routine, studio
mania, coffee-cigarettes, boomboom, Lausanne Basel Brussels, terrible
baby, sectarian drift, good home-cooked meals, bad livers, good wine.
The projects carried by the collective thus explore the materiality of
the commons, attempting to illustrate connections while acknowledging
the importance of giving them shape, breadth, and color. Through this
mechanism, we shift from
the group exhibition to
the exhibition of the group.
If the collective is a block - a form without a bottom, made of
cardboard and glue but held together by real screws - then the
monoliths are out, built because we are built. Already at
-ite at maison Gaudard in September 2022,
as part of État des lieux, an exhibition
initiated by Lausanne’s independent art spaces aimed at promoting the
local art scene.
We also had the pleasure of inaugurating MAE WEST - the new
Placette in Lausanne in February 2025. The
exhibition made it possible to consolidate our ways of working,
confirm our shared interests, and develop a common aesthetic. In
August 2025, we will take part in a group exhibition a
marytwo, marking our first experience in
the German-speaking part of Switzerland.

Venant d’horizons mixtes et s’étant retrouvés dans un groupe assigné à
l’ECAL (École cantonale d’art de Lausanne), le collectif
Je T’aime est une boule presque sectaire,
mais mignonne.
Après trois ans d’amitié, le collectif
Je T’aime est officiellement fondé sur
make.it.meme en juillet 2024, avec les
hashtags #collectifjetaime #orgynapoli.
Depuis, le groupe s’affaire à continuer d’exister artistiquement.
L’importance du projet repose sur l’idée d’existence d’un collectif en
dehors des murs de la galerie, et de la gestion des conditions
humaines, matérielles ou émotionnelles nécessaires pour s’étiqueter «
groupe ».
Si les moments d’exposition comme ceux de production artistique
cristallisent ces dynamiques, les pièces collectives s’articulent
autour de réflexions sur les liens interpersonnels, leurs formes et
leurs limites, comme des comptes rendus de ce qui s’est passé entre
deux montages.
Gossip machine, noise activator, snap clan, vélo routine, atelier
mania, café-clopes, boomboom, Lausanne Bâle Bruxelles, bébé terrible,
dérive sectaire, bons petits plats, mauvais vivants, bon vin.
Les projets portés par le collectif s’intéressent donc à la
matérialité des communs, en essayant d’illustrer les liens tout en
prenant en compte l’importance de leur donner forme, largeur, couleur.
Par ce mécanisme-là, nous passons de l’exposition de groupe à
l’exposition du groupe.
Si le collectif est un bloc, une forme sans fond, en carton-pâte mais
tenue par de vraies vis, les monolithes sont de sortie, construits,
parce que nous le sommes — déjà à l’occasion de
-ite à la maison Gaudard en septembre
2022, dans le cadre de État des lieux,
exposition initiée par les espaces d’art indépendants lausannois,
visant à valoriser la scène artistique locale.
Nous avons aussi eu le plaisir d’inaugurer l’espace MAE WEST -
nouvelle
Placette - à Lausanne en février 2025.
L’exposition a permis d’asseoir des manières de travailler, de
confirmer des intérêts communs et de dégager une esthétique partagée.
En août 2025, nous sommes invités à participer à une exposition
collective à marytwo, marquant notre
première expérience dans la partie alémanique de la Suisse.
